A Very Special 20th Annual Kennett Brewfest

On Saturday, I joined thousands of other beer lovers at the 20th Annual Kennett Brewfest! Decked out with our traditional pretzel necklaces, my husband and I walked the half mile from our house to the festival grounds and had a great day with our friends!

Historic Kennett Square always does an amazing job running the event, and the volunteers are so helpful. Of course, there is so much good beer to be had! (My favorite of the day was Tequilacerbus from Avery!) Brewfest is one of our favorite days of the year, but this year’s 20th festival was really special. Here’s why:

    The weather was perfect!

You could not beat the cool temperatures, dry air, and sunshine in the afternoon! After years of baking on the asphalt or shivering in raincoats, Saturday’s weather was like a reward to veterans and a gift to first-timers.

Fancy glasses for the Connoisseur Session

Usually, festival attendees receive plastic tasting mugs, and this was the case for regular session goers this year. However, Connoisseurs received fancy stemmed glasses! We enjoyed our glasses during the event, but we will appreciate them even more in the future for at-home tasting. They are great souvenirs of this special anniversary event

    Creative brewery attractions

In honor of the 20th Brewfest, visiting breweries pulled out special tricks! My favorite one was from West Chester craft brewery, Levante Brewing Company. Every hour during the regular session, they opened a new growler and poured it until it was gone. It always caused a line to form and people came back for repeat pours every hour, which is almost unheard of! I got to try the Gango Melato, a mango gose.

Kennett Brewfest is such a special event and a highlight for our town.

Every year, we have at least one person in our group who is new to the event, and first-timers are always so impressed at the quality of the offerings and the event itself. Thanks to Historic Kennett for providing tickets for my husband and me to attend the event! We love Brewfest and the opportunity to celebrate our town!
