Fresh Face: Marcy Mackey
A few steps off Cypress Street, the door to The Bungalow opens into a sanctuary of peace and calm. “I want people to feel welcome and safe here,” says owner Marcy Mackey. Her joy and energy radiate throughout this healing space.
Every experience and seeming detour along Marcy’s journey—from traveling the world as a professional dancer with The Beach Boys to years of studying and practicing massage therapy, yoga, and meditation, and even the business degree she thought she’d never use—have brought her to The Bungalow.
Marcy received her first massage while on the road. “It was eye-opening and transformative,” she says. “I knew I wanted to touch people in that way, to heal others as I’d been healed.”
Building trusting relationships is at the heart of her gentle and intuitive approach, and she incorporates the modalities that best care for the individual in each massage. The Bungalow offers unique options including Vedic Thai Yoga Bodywork, CBD oil, pre/post-natal, 30-minute quick-fix, and even by-the-minute chair massages. Other services include Ayurvedic treatments, Reiki, yoga, and meditation sessions and instruction. “What I want people to understand,” Marcy says, “is the power they have to heal themselves.”
No matter how far she’s wandered, Marcy has always returned to her roots and family in this area. “I love Kennett Square,” she says, and she’s delighted to make her home here with her three children. She’s excited to be working with like-minded local organizations, and part of her mission is to take The Bungalow deeper into the community.
Every day, Marcy sees transformation. “People walk in feeling pain, tension, stress—and they walk out at ease, centered, smiling.”
The Bungalow has plenty of free parking, and clients can schedule appointments online or via email or phone. Gift certificates and packages are also available.
