    FIND THE POP-UP LENDING LIBRARIES

    Enjoy a fun summer hunt of all 17 pop-up lending libraries (called PULL stations) located in and around downtown Kennett Square. Each one decorated by local artists and students, and built by local Boy Scouts, students, and woodworking organizations, these fun lending libraries not only promote literacy, but they have also become a public art project.     TAKE A TOUR OF THE KENNETT UNDERGROUND RAILROAD CENTER

    The Kennett Underground Railroad Center documents more than two dozen underground railroad sites or “stations”
    in southern Chester County. Take a guided tour and learn all about the historic sites and struggles of abolitionists, conductors, stationmasters, and freedom seekers.

    VISIT THE HISTORIC BRANDYWINE BATTLEFIELD

    A national historic landmark, this 50-acre preserve is dedicated to the memory of the famous Battle of the Brandywine in 1777, the largest single day battle of the American Revolution. Admission includes access to an orientation film, museum, and guided tours of Washington’s headquarters and the Gideon Gilpin House.
