This sustainable food co-op is the missing link in our neighborhood.

Since 2001, the Kennett Education Foundation (KEF) has been on a mission to invest in the future of our community. They have partnered with the Kennett Consolidated School District to fund grants that encourage innovative ideas and invest in programs that improve academic progress. In addition, they award scholarships to graduating seniors—including the newly instituted annual Pathways scholarship that fully funds a technical/community college degree. Community support and involvement are what make it all possible. “I’ve been involved with KEF since 2011, and it’s very satisfying to see the impact my partnership has had in the community and in our schools,” says Dr. Michael Cari. With the help of generous supporters like Cari Orthodontics, KEF has funded over $360,000 in education grants and $422,000 in scholarships!

Action Plan | Partner with KEF by becoming a sponsor, making a donation, or attending an event. Find out more at KennettEducationFoundation.org and click on Support Us. 2019 Social Mission: La Communidad Hispana

At Fig, we believe in the power of a community that works together to identify needs and find solutions—one that creates connections and is passionate about helping its neighbors. Our 2019 Social Mission Partner is La Comunidad Hispana, an impactful nonprofit whose good work contributes immensely to our thriving, local community.

Offering Affordable Dental Health | At LCH, they believe that everyone in the community deserves a healthy mouth and a smile they can be proud of. Their Dental Center provides oral health care for all, regardless of insurance status. LCH takes most commercial insurance, Medicaid/CHIP, Medicare, and offers discounts to individuals without insurance. They offer basic family dentistry (cleanings, fillings, and extractions), as well as whitening and custom night guards. Across the country, about 20-25% of children experience dental disease.

Here in southern Chester County, LCH sees about 60% of children with dental disease. Dental disease in children is incredibly preventable, and the LCH Dental Team is partnering with pediatric and prenatal medical providers, along with community partners to help end dental disease among our children.

Action Plan | LCH cannot tackle this issue alone. They need the help of our community through donations to bring free toothbrushes, toothpaste, and fluoride treatments to all children in our community. LCH is specifically asking for help in collecting 2,000 infant toothbrushes. To learn more or donate online, visit lacomunidadhispana.org.
