Dr. Sherif brings medical experience from around the globe to Chester County. He received his Medical Degree from Tanta University in Tanta, Egypt, and completed his Orthopaedic residency at Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt. After moving to the United States with his wife, a Texas native, he conducted five years of research in Orthopaedics in Southern California — two years at the Hip & Pelvis Institute at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and three years at the LA Orthopaedic Institute at St. Vincent Medical Center in downtown Los Angeles. Later, he completed four Orthopaedic fellowships—three of them in spine surgery focusing on different parts of the spine—at Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, the University of Rochester, and finally, at the University of Pennsylvania.

This project came out of a desire to gain a greater understanding of people’s experiences coming to the U.S., with all of their hopes and expectations, and the reality that ensues—for the better, for the worse, or just the unexpected.

More than half a million Americans undergo knee replacement surgery every year. Few of these cases are as complicated as Ken Strawhecker’s.

On November 20, Strawhecker had one of the most complex knee replacements ever performed at Chester County Hospital. It was a multi-part procedure that involved two orthopaedic surgeons working together over several months.

The Matt Fetick Team, a real estate group in the Brandywine Valley, is cultivating community support through local holiday recipes in the form of a cookbook. From appetizers to main dishes, desserts, and cocktails, this cookbook—featuring real family recipes from clients, team members, and members of the community—is set to benefit Kennett Area Community Service (KACS).
